Welcome to Villa Zambia - Prines
The lovely old village of Prines, 6 km from Rethymnon, with its traditional houses and little streets provides the atmospheric setting for this restored village house. Villa Zambia is a two-storey house of 120sqm, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, suitable for 5-6 people, and is set in a narrow street, with a paved front courtyard, and an attractive private, long back garden with a swimming pool.

Entering the house there is a spacious open plan living/dining area with a sofa bed and TV. At the rear of this, there is a very well equipped corner kitchenette, with a window and a door to the garden. Just beyond the back door there is a really beautifully finished and immaculate outdoor shower room/WC.
From the living area, an unusual curving staircase with iron railing and glass treads, leads to the upper floor, to a small hallway lit by a domed roof light, two spacious bedrooms, both with air conditioning units (at an extra charge), and a well finished bathroom. The bedroom to the front has a double bed and a balcony, with patio furniture, and overlooks the village. The bedroom to the back has both a double and a single bed, and a small balcony overlooking the back gardens and the neighboring countryside. The bathroom/WC also houses a washing machine.
In the private gardens to the back there are steps up to a large paved raised sun terrace with pergola and well equipped BBQ and dining facilities, overlooking the pool. Beyond this is the 24sqm swimming pool, well raised above ground level, with a ladder and power jets. The lower part of the gardens are very pretty with a huge shady walnut tree, and a breakfast table, flower beds and a selection of young fruit trees.
There is a little mini market about 50 meters from the house, and there are kafenions in the village. A variety of taverns, shops, and a bakery can be found in the nearby village of Atsipopoulo which is about 2 km away. The nearest beach is approx 5 km away. Car hire is recommended.
